Personal Mission Statement
In 1 on September 22, 2009 at 11:43 pmFrom now on, I am going to focus on the following things.
I ask for your support in holding me to these goals:
1): Being absolutely focused on encouraging, empowering, educating, and connecting people to each other.
Through my efforts:
+ the physical state of our planet is improved
+ more people understand one another across cultures and countries
+ more people earn more money
+ more people are able to participate in their local communities as positive changemakers
+ we have increased health and prosperity, wellness, literacy, clean drinking water, abundant food, safe neighborhoods, and opportunities for people to find meaningful work
How to measure:
Invest 10% of my assets in community-building efforts through a non-profit educational foundation.
Invest 10% of my assets into business development for women of color.
Positively affect at least one thousand people’s lives in ways that I know and can document.
2) I will use all my efforts to do my best with my unique skills.
I feel very blessed to be able to communicate. I share my knowledge and I increase other people’s abilities and skills through training, mentoring, writing, coaching, and teaching.
+ Focus on sharing information through books, articles, papers
+ Share my web development knowledge with more and varied types of people
+ Converting knowledge into training curriculum that is useful, inspiring, and encouraging to others
How to measure:
Write, publish, and sell personal development book by 2010.
Connect similar-minded people with each other and build bridges between individuals and organizations.
Run a venture fund contest to encourage entrepreneurship for youth.
Develop a business incubation system for women of color.
3) Making a real effort to deepen and increase my relationships with family, friends, associates, partners, neighbors
+ I believe that people come into our lives for a reason
+ I resolve to truly appreciate others
+ I will do my best to understand other people, to understand their feelings and how that moves their actions
How to measure:
Lasting relationships where people tell me consistently how much my presence means to them. Making sure to listen when others are speaking. Making sure to hear and understand to the best of my ability.
4) Being able to attract and retain money and to be a good steward of any financial success given to me.
How to measure:
To live each day with the best of my ability, sharing what I am best at, taking care of myself and my family.
